Populuxe Brewing: 2014

Populuxe Brewing has always embraced the bold flavors and intense aromas of hop-forward Northwest style IPAs. This summer we continue that tradition with our Expansion IPA.

Brewed to celebrate our 1st major expansion at the brewery, Expansion IPA is a crisp, spicy IPA brewed with Centennial, Citra and Amarillo hops. Pale Ale, Rye and Victory malts combine to create a complex malt backbone without getting in the way of the bold, citrus hop flavors.

As the brewery grows, so do our ambitions for bringing you the finest, freshest, most flavorful craft beer around. Come celebrate with us this summer with a pint, and ask us where everything is going to go!

Expansion IPA will be available throughout the summer at the brewery tasting room.

Let's talk about Seattle Beer Week 6! Seattle Beer Week is an annual event to celebrate the greatest beer city in the world. This year it's May 8th through the 18th. Eagle eyed calender watchers will notice that this is more than 1 week. This is because the awesomeness of Seattle beer can't be contained into a mere 7 days. We're going to need at least 2 weekends to cover it.

We've got some cool events lined up during SBW6, both at the brewery and out in the field.

Friday, the 9th - Kick off SBW6 with Nano night at Naked City. Join us and other small breweries from around the state to celebrate the art of brewing small! Nano night was a blast last year and this year will no doubt be even more fun.

Saturday, the 10th - It's Farmhouse Night at The Sixgill! See how our Petit Saison stacks up against the likes of Crux, Logsdon, pFriem, Black Raven and other non-Seattle brewer (spoiler alert: local is better).

Monday, the 12th - The Women in Beer/Thirsty Sisters event at Pike Brewing. We return to this great event after our inaugural showing last year. We got the leak in our jockey box fixed over the winter, so I expect this year will be much less messy! The Finkels always put on a great event and this one is sure to be a blast. Featuring our Peppercorn Saison!

Teusday, the 13th - Ballard Beer Rodeo at Bitterroot! The debut of our collaboration beer with the fine folks at Bitterroot, an Applewood Smoked Rye Saison! Like everything they serve at Bitterroot, it's delicious. This is an SBW exclusive beer, so get it while you can! Come on back on Sunday the 18th for their Smoke and Birrors event.

Saturday 10th, and 17th - We're going to have special casks tapped at the tasting room both Saturdays during beer week. The casks have been pretty popular on their regular Thursday nights, so we thought we'd spread the love out to some of the folks who don't normally get to try them. Casks get tapped at 2pm and will last until they are done!
