Update for March
A blog post! Not just a tap list, but honest to goodness real words with meaning! It's been too long old blogger site...too long indeed.
We've been super-busy down at the brewery. The response has been so great to our opening that we've been furiously brewing to keep up with demand. This is not a bad problem to have, and we have our friends and neighbors here in Ballard to thank for that!
We got fresh yeast in from WYEAST this week, which is good news since it means that we can start to think about rebrewing some of our favorites like the CDA, and also bringing on some new brews like our Pale Ale. Also in this week are our "sixtels" or 1/6th bbl kegs:
Thes skinny kegs will allow us to start packaging in quantities that most bars and restaurants will be interested in. Not only that, but it will allow us to get some beer out to certain Seattle Beer Week events. Nothing firmed up yet, but you will probably be able to find our beer on at places like the Brave Horse, Urban Family and a few others around town during the 2nd week of May.
What else...more picnic tables are in-bound, and we're working on getting some landscaping in the back yard. Yelp lists us as a "beer garden", so we're working on making that a real instead of just internet real. Cold room is almost done, so that means more taps and more variety will be available soon.
Press! There's a great write-up in the Ballard News Tribune right now about the business of brewing in Ballard. Overall it's a very positive piece, but maybe that's what you get when you ask a bunch of brewers about the state of craft beer.
Again, thank you to everyone who has come down to check out our beer in the past few weeks. We've been overwhelmed by the response and have had a great time puring pints and chatting with all of you. This weekend looks like it's gonna be a scorcher (mid 60s!) so if you get a chance come on down for a cold beer and some hot cornhole!

Opening day
Opening!
It's been a long time coming, but we're finally ready to open our doors to the public. Our first official open day will be next Friday at 5PM. We'll have a "grand opening" at some point a little later in the future, after we finish the bar build out, but as of 3/8 you can come on down for a pint between 5-9. Down the road we'll be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday - maybe Sunday depending on demand and what's happening around town. Accurate hours will always be posted here (to the right) or you can just give us a call.
We've had a few events over this past weekend to help us iron out our systems. Our soft opening and a few exclusive Founders Club events have prepped us to the point where we probably won't embarrass ourselves in front of the general public. Knowing how to make change, how long it takes to change a keg, how many glasses we go through, etc. is really going to help once we're doing regular business hours at the tasting room.
Look for a keg or two around town as well. We'll get something out in the next month or so to one of the local watering holes. Keep your eyes posted here for that info.
